Thanks to the efforts of the Clay Center Observatory, the entire planet will be able to view COSMOS 1 through the Observatory's telescopic video camera.

As the Observatory's camera can only record COSMOS 1 as it flies overhead of the Observatory, the live feed will be available only 10-20 minutes at a time.

An estimated schedule of these flyovers is published below. These times will be updated as necessary.

1. Can I view the launch from this site?

No, video of the launch will not be available through the Clay Center Observatory. While the launch location is in Severomorsk, Russia, the Observatory is located in Massachusetts. Since the Observatory can only show COSMOS 1 as it travels over the Observatory, the Observatory will not be able to record the launch.

2. When can I view COSMOS 1 for the first time through the live video feed on this site?

Thursday, June 23rd between 21:00:00 - 22:00:00 EDT will be the first period of time that COSMOS 1 will be viewable through this site. This time frame may change as conditions change.

3. Will there be a list of recorded video feeds from previous live feeds available from this site?

No, only the live video feed will be made available from this site. So, we highly recommend you check the schedule (once it gets published). This site will post the schedule as soon as possible.
